Dan is the founder of DDMA. He is involved with client relations on a daily basis, and is particularly proud of the close relationships he has developed with his clients over the years. Dan’s internal responsibilities include overseeing sales and marketing, bookkeeping, and the overall financial status of the company. Dan began his career as a cabinet maker with partner Charlie DeTillio in California in 1979. He later became a detailer/draftsman. Sue Bishop
Sue began working at DDMA in 2016. Throughout high school and college, Sue worked in retail, and after receiving her BA from Hofstra, she began her career in textile sales. Sue took some time off to be with her three kids and when she returned to work, she did bookkeeping for an Interior Design firm, as well as some paralegal work. Sue prides herself on her work ethic – being able to check things off a list and working well with co-workers, clients, and vendors. She’s happy to be a part of the DDMA team and enjoys being a part of each project from the very start. After work and on the weekends, Sue is often running around with her kids, getting her family and friends together, and heading to the beach when it’s nice out. One thing Sue wants to check off her own personal list is seeing the Northern Lights and going to Iceland!

Emeritus PartnerDavid Corrigan
David has spent the past nine years with us. He started in 2010, as an intern while completing his degree in Drafting at SUNY Farmingdale. After two years, he became a full-time member of our team, as a Senior Drafter and then segueing into Design Development. Every job and every day is different for David, and he’s excited by that challenge. He believes that the most dangerous phrase in all languages is – “we’ve always done it this way”. He loves to work with our clients to create details that fit their original design intent but also assure the best functionality. Some of his favorite projects at DDMA include Polo Restaurant and Bar, Bergdorf Goodman jewelry department, and Louis Vuitton SoHo, just to name a few. David lives by the motto, “Don’t downgrade your dream just to fit your reality. Upgrade your conviction to match your destiny.”

Senior EstimatorFrank Mauro
Frank has been with the company since its inception in 1989, and is currently in Estimating and Sales. In fact, it was he and Dan who started the business in Deer Park, NY all those years ago. Before working for Dan, Frank had a strong foundation in woodworking, and was accustomed to a wood shop environment. In the beginning (before Auto-CAD was around!), Frank would do hand sketches to develop details before meeting with clients. In the many years that he has been with DDMA, Frank has been involved in a number of different projects. Some of his favorites include: Ralph Lauren’s executive office, Crate and Barrel on Madison Avenue in New York, as well as several celebrity homes. Appropriately, in his spare time, Frank likes to “dabble” in woodworking!

Emeritus Vice PresidentMike Smith
Mike is our Estimating Manager. He’s been with DDMA since April of 2007. After receiving his B.S. in Economics from Siena, Mike worked as a Job Super at a New York general contracting firm. Shortly after, his neighbor – Dan – asked him to join the DDMA team. Like a lot of people at DDMA, Mike learned about every aspect of the company before assuming his current role. Mike says he enjoys the people in our office, as well as, always getting to do something new. He says that very few projects are alike and he enjoys the challenge of figuring out how to make it all work and come together. Some of Mike’s favorite projects are for Polo Ralph Lauren; he’s worked on many, including flagships like – 888 Madison Avenue, the Ralph Lauren Mansion, and 711 Fifth Avenue, all in New York City. He’s also worked on the Beverly Hills Ralph Lauren flagship on Rodeo Drive, just to name a few. As for his free time – Mike loves to spend time with his family – his wife and three sons. Every year, Mike organizes an event and raises money for Suicide Prevention. He’s a die-hard Mets and Giants fan, and hopes to visit all 30 MLB stadiums with his sons. Mike’s father passed on the mantra, “always be humble”, to him and he plans to pass that on to his three boys, as well.

Operations
Dano DeMarco
Dano officially started working for us full-time in 2009; however, he grew up helping out on installs during the summer and on weekends while attending high school and college. When he came on-board, the plan was to have him work in each department, so as to learn the various facets of the business and ultimately grow into his current position as an Associate and General Manager. After one year of doing just that, Dano became involved with project management, assisting on several jobs which included Escada, Boston; Polo, Greenwich and Christian Dior, Beverly Hills. He also spent a period of time in Estimating. During the time he has been with us, Dano counts the Christian Dior, Beverly Hills project as one of his favorites. Its sheer size, the level of difficulty involved in fabricating and installing our work, as well as the amazing design of the store as a whole is indeed impressive. It is Dano’s goal to always be mindful of not only the immediate, but also the long-term future of DDMA. In an effort to ensure longevity, he works in conjunction with the Operations and Sales departments in order to achieve this end. And because a company cannot thrive without the right people in place, he works to ensure that we are staffed accordingly. When not in the office, Dano loves to travel, and counts South Africa as his favorite destination (he honeymooned there with his wife and would love to go back one day. In fact, his dream job would be to own a safari lodge in the African bush!). He loves to play golf, baseball (he played in college) and watch professional and college football (he is a season ticket holder at Clemson University…go Tigers!). Dano and his wife Kristen are also the proud parents to their daughter, Olive Grace, and dog, Tomlin (after the head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers).

What he loves most about his position is getting to witness the transformation of a job first hand. He loves building and finds it so rewarding to see a job from start to finish. Project ExecutiveGeorge Munoz
George began working for DDMA since 2012. With an Associate’s Degree in Architecture from Island Drafting & Technical Institute and his countless experience, George is one of our project executives. He is responsible for bringing projects from start to finish with the help of our internal team, clients, architects and designers. During this process, he reviews drawings and, both, oversees and executes drafting, fabrication, and installation schedules. Prior to DDMA, George worked for nine years as a draftsman and project manager for a high end woodworking and trade show display company. There, he worked on countless projects and large trade shows, leading him to become the Production Manager. In that position he oversaw project management, the shop, and shipping. George has always loved construction. When he was five, his parents bought him a toy tool belt, which he wore around the house pretending to fix things. It only makes sense that his career has led him this way. George really enjoys the challenge of different and exciting designs that allow him to work with designers and architects on concept designs through to the final product. Some of his favorite projects at DDMA include (but are definitely not limited to), Van Cleef & Arpels NYC Flagship, Dior Beverly Hills, Louis Vuitton Garden State Mall, Under the Dunes Residential, Conway Residential, and 4510 at Hudson Yard NYC. In addition to his degree, George also has a certificate in AutoCAD training and OSHA. In his spare time, George enjoys practicing Brazilian Jujitsu, doing construction on his house, and spending time with his wife and daughters. George says his guilty pleasure is eating different types of pizza from his favorite Italian restaurant with his family. He also hopes to one day travel Europe on a month-long excursion.
